Non surgical Periodontal Therapy
This 6 week course is designed for hygienists who want to refresh and extend their knowledge of non surgical periodontal therapy
Objectives- Students will:
" Have looked at how to read and evaluate a clinical paper
" Understand the current thinking in periodontal therapy
" Be aware of the role of Biofilm and its disruption
" Gain knowledge in motivation and communication techniques
" Look at the instruments available for therapy
" Look at adjuncts to non surgical therapy
" Have practical skills developed to reduce operator fatigue and improve Biofilm disruption
Achieving completion of this course will be via a combination of distance learning and attendance of lectures at a CPDforDCP learning facility.
Entrance criteria- Students will have:
" A valid GDC registration as a hygienist , therapist dual qualification
" Availability to attend in house training sessions
" Access to the internet
